No, we do not allow firepits of any kind for safety reasons. This includes wood and portable propane pits. You may bring your own BBQ but cannot turn it into a flaming firepit.
Topaz Lake is nearly at capacity (right at the edge of the Park) in 2024 and expected to remain there for the foreseeable future.
Topaz Lake is open year round for fishing. Both California and Nevada stock the lake. California usually stocks multiple times in October of every year. Nevada stock throughout each year.
The fish types include: Rainbow, Eagle Lake, Cutbow, German Brown, Large Mouth Bass and Small Mouth Bass.
If you are 16 or older you will need either a California or Nevada fishing license. With either license you can fish anywhere on the lake or shoreline asTopaz Lake is a bi-state lake. Locally you can purchase fishing licenses at the Topaz Lodge general store by the gas station located one mile North of the Topaz Lake RV Park.
In 2024, the fishing as been pretty good especially on the South end of the lake near the inlet channel to the lake where the waters are colder there. Most of my fisherpeople report that they are still trolling with success. Some are "still" fishing in their boats or off our large docks.
After 50 some odd years of cable service in the area, the local cable provider shut down service in 2024. So many RVers have DirecTV, Dish, their own internet provider, hotspots, Roku, Firesticks, downloads....you name it, we hope that there is a somehow, someway that you can have TV through one of these options. We are selling Roku sticks in the store now. If the Park wifi system does not support streaming due to too many devices logged on, you should use your hotspot. x
We welcome well-bahaved dogs! All dogs must be leashed in the Park. The other end of the leash is either held by a person or is tied to a picnic table (example) in your site. Please do not tie the leash/cable/rope to or near the utility connections or trees. As a responsible owner you must be in control of your dog at all times and clean up after it. Do not leave your dog alone in your site if it is going to bark excessively.
